Italy International Federico Chiesa has been in the news as English Premier League clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United have entered the race to sign the player.
Federico is the son of legendary striker Enrico Chiesa, will have his contract expire at the end of this season with Fiorentina. Serie A giants Inter Milan and Juventus have shown interest in the player and have marked him as a player to buy for the coming season.
The 21-year old forward has also chased by Napoli, who is keeping a closer eye on the proceedings. Carlo Ancelotti’s side does have an advantage over other Italian clubs due to an agreement reached with La Viola.
Italian media have also revealed that Manchester United has shown interest and might bid for Chiesa in the month of January.
The famous British tabloid, The Mirror claims that the Manchester United Manager, Jose Mourinho has almost £100m in his luxury to buy top players for the second half of the season.
Chiesa seems to be a perfect choice for Mourinho and might play on the right wing if he signs for Manchester United. Some pundits say that he could play a role in the middle field to allow Romelu Lukaku to perform a sole striker in the XI.
However, he hasn’t put in impressive numbers regarding goal-scoring and has only scored 11 times in 73 matches in the games played in the Serie A.
The big positive is that all the biggest clubs in Europe have been impressed by Chiesa’s creativity in the field. He also proves to be a perfect team – player and has been excellent concerning the passing range.
Chelsea also showed interest in signing the player for the coming season as players like Pedro and Willian are in their 30s. It will be interesting to see which club signs Federico Chiesa in the following month of January.
